One of the best investments that anyone can make is in themselves. You need to be able to give to yourself before being able to give to others, and you can do this by investing in new skills, personal or professional development, hiring a coach or even by just getting creative. You owe it to yourself to take responsibility to develop the gifts and talents you have so you’re best able to serve others. By investing in yourself, you send a powerful message, not only yourself, but to others. When you’re willing to invest in yourself, you will be granted with some amazing rewards. Here are just a few tremendous ways that you can invest in yourself:
1. Set Goals: This can’t be stressed enough, but you need to learn how to set personal and business goals. If you’re not taking time to set goals, you’re essentially walking around a dark room trying to find the door. You won’t know where you’re going and you will waste time. Be sure to apply time frames to achieve them. The goals you set should be SMART: Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Timely.
2. Building Confidence: People who know their true value will have something to say and have people that will listen. Invest in yourself by developing an understanding of your value and what it is that you can offer others. Develop the courage to speak your truth. There is a direct correlation between how much you love yourself and owning the value you offer to how confident you are in sharing it with others.
3. Read Books: Reading books, or listening to audiobooks is a fantastic way to build your knowledge and expertise in any area you desire. As they say: Readers are leaders, and leaders are readers.
4. Listen to Intuition: By listening to your intuition, you make better decisions. Value your intuition by not allowing those feelings or statements of others to take away what you know to be true. This can be very empowering. Paying attention to how you feel about situations and decisions will help you make better, smarter, and quicker decisions.
5. Seminars & Workshops: Attending these is a great way to expand your knowledge and skills in either your business, personal life or both. It will also give you the opportunity to meet and interact with individuals who share some of the same ideals as yourself or else they wouldn’t be there either.
6. Invest in Creativity: Creativity can be the key for you to manifest that urge of continual learning and lifelong activity. It can allow you to be inspired, have fun and appreciate all the simplicity and beauty in the world.
7. Write Your Bucket List: This may seems like an odd way to invest in yourself, but believe me, if you don’t have a bucket list, it’s time to start one. A bucket list should be a list of everything you want to achieve, do, see, feel, and experience. It should be a living document, meaning that you can always add to it. Start by writing 50 things down and then each month, be sure you’re crossing off at least one of the items. This can be a great way to manifest or do creative visualization towards your goals.
8. Hire a Coach: Coaches are able to help you put all of your strategies in motion. You can look at a coach as being your partner in success. Their job is to assist you in the creation and implementation of your success plan, putting you on the path of becoming the best you can possibly be.
9. Take Care of Yourself: By simply eating right, you’re fueling your body with nutrients. Focusing on eating organic and making healthier choices will lead you to feeling better and having more energy. Also, do something every day just to get moving and get your heart rate up. Exercise gives you the energy to tackle each day with confidence because of how it makes you look and how it makes you feel.
10. Be Happy: Whether you wish to admit it or not, happiness is a choice. Those that are happy have chosen to focus on the positive over the negative. They look at all the reasons in their lives to be grateful and that’s a big part to investing in yourself.
“Invest in as much of yourself as you can, you are your own biggest asset by far.” Warren Buffett
